Agroforestry Approaches in the Cocoa Sector to Strengthen Farmers’ Climate Resilience

With millions of Indonesian smallholder cocoa farmers, climate change has emerged as one of the most significant threats to their yields and livelihoods. Today, agroforestry has emerged as one of the solutions to transform Indonesia’s cocoa landscape – helping farmers to adapt to climate risk, while preserving biodiversity, soil fertility, and long-term productivity.

This session, “Agroforestry Approaches in the Cocoa Sector to Strengthen Farmers’ Climate Resilience,” convened by CSP with the support of Rikolto, is bringing together experts from CIFOR-ICRAF and Preferred by Nature to share practical approaches and research on leveraging agroforestry for the cocoa sector.
