Rainforest Alliance Helping Cocoa Farmers Build Resilience to Climate Change in East Nusa Tenggara

East Nusa Tenggara, December 06, 2022 – Heavy rains fell on cocoa plantations in Ende, East Nusa Tenggara, for nine consecutive days in April 2021. This incident caused quite severe damage to the farmers' cocoa plants.

An estimated, the cause of heavy rains in East Nusa Tenggara is the impact of climate change. Therefore, through the initiative Transforming the Cocoa Sector in Indonesia through Value Addition for Smallholders (TRACTION), The Rainforest Alliance engages farmers and provides training on climate-smart growing techniques.
